Transition to Work
MDSS Transition to Work Program (TTW) is not only about transition to work, but also transition to young adulthood.
The two year program is individually personalised and incorporates work focused skills as well as life skills, social skills and self-esteem building to help young people with an intellectual disability move to open or supported employment.
Our Transition to Work participants have the opportunity to work one-on-one with our person centred team, and each individual is encouraged to have a voice, increase their independence and prepare for a working future.
We encourage our TTW participants to attend our weekly Client Program for extra skill development and social interaction, and we believe in the importance of empowering and increasing each individual's happiness and fulfilment by listening, advising and assisting them to achieve their personal goals.
All participants have the opportunity to visit work sites, partake in work experience, attend pre-vocational courses such as TAFE and attend other sporting and recreational activities.
